India's first riverfront development project that will soon become a benchmark for other states to follow. Expected to be completed by 2010, the project promises to alter the skyline of Ahmedabad. Once completed, Ahmedabad will make it to the map of the world as a prominent city to reckon with.

Why spent croers of Rs. to mimic foreign concepts ? Even the foreigners do not spend money to clean their rivers, they just maintain their environment clean, clean mind and clean thoughts.
if you look at sabarmati riverfront project, it is late. it was supposed to be ready by 2010. Even right now, the slums have come back on the reclaimed land. (i find it funny).
The real estate developed on the reclaimed land will not be affordable to even higher middle class.
