First (observed) episodes occurred when she was 5 years old. The video was taken during a weekend of excessive exercise when the weather was very cold. The owner isn't sure if there were any offensive foods at the time. After eating some roast beef she had a typical cramping episode of stiffness and shaking. She then no longer got any beef until the summer of 2004 when she was fed some freeze dried liver treats, after which she again went through several weeks of cramping.
To test her for gluten intolerance she was fed a slice of bread twice weekly for three weeks in October 2004. There were no episodes during that period.
Triggers: excessive exercise and extreme cold.
This is one of a series of videos showing examples of Border Terriers during episodes of Canine Epileptoid Cramping Syndrome (CECS). If you suspect your dog shows these symptoms, it might be helpful for your vet to view the videos.

our BT does this, He is Epileptic. I think the licking is part of the seizure. He will stand and lick my hand, arm, leg, whatever before or just after a major seizure.
