  • Cheaper plans for a murphy bed-

Step one: Screw heavy duty hinges to your wall studs.

Step two: Put together a box to hold your bed (make sure it's strong and attractive).Attach a couple of bungee cords to the inside corners to hold the mattress when you tilt the box against the wall.

Step three: Screw the box to the hinges and toss your mattress in. Tilt the box against the wall using the hinges.

Step four: Take the $300 you saved and buy yourself a new grill.

  • yes, cool vid. but $299 and I still have to buy the wood, cut it and put it all together?? yikes.

  • 2 broke girls?

  • Hey, everybody! I purchased the bed mechanism but got the construction plans for the twin size bed, but need plans for a quuen-size bed. Maybe here is somebody who has these? I would really appreciate if somebody could send them to me.. I need only the parts where there are the sizes...

  • @kendigjl yea its quite expensive to purchase it from these folks, but i saw the gas actuators and connecting pads at msc direct web, the part numbers of which i got from the moddi murphy bed site, incorporated that into a lori wall bed design with a few modifications.

  • @pabstpapster do you know a supplier where i could buy those gas springs and the zinc brackets ? a website or phone # ??? please let me know

  • might as well buy an already built murphy bed

  • @szucsgellert Hi. The gas shocks in the kit you order work good. When you build it before you insert your mattress in it it folds up fast but once the mattress is inside the bed frame in works nice. I have a full bed kit and sorry I can't see no reference numbers.

hi! been reading your post. thinking about buying one of these mechanisms. wondering how strong the gas springs are. i'm going to have a queen size bed, so i need power. could you tell me how strong they are? usually a number followed by N (newton) ex: 100N.

    thanks, G.

  • not gonna lie, i wanted to look one of these up after 2 broke girls
