These are well documented historical facts summarized in order to get these events out there in the public. I apologize for not including other key facts and important roles played during these times, but there is enough information for anyone to go and do further research on the matter. At the end of Part 2 are several questions I hope the viewer will consider. All comments are appreciated.

Might be a good idea to say that Saloth Sar, ruler of Cambodia during the 70s, and who received 86 million USD to overthrow the democratic government in his country, is Pol Pot.

Saloth Sar was his given name and took the name Pol Pot after taking over. He's one of the worst murderous maniacs in the history of humanity and he was funded by the United states government.

Thanks. I definitely should have. Pol Pot is the name you hear far more frequently.

I've read that this is debatable; though it does sound more likely that he killed himself. Either way, Allende was an awesome person and it's really sad that the U.S. helped take him out to put in power a brutal dictator that ended up killing thousands of other great people. Thanks for your comment.

If you mean "aid and relief" as forced neoliberalism (privatization and corruption), then yes, you're right, the U.S. isn't quite like the Romans were.

The U.S. is doing it wrong. The Romans would often invade a nation and use the natural resources found within. The U.S. invades a nation and offers aid and relief to the population. If you're going to be an imperial power, at least do it right. No wonder they're broke.

Why americans think that when the people ALL OVER THE WORLD claims that they want to fight against the "American Imperialism" it has something to do with the american trendy products "made in China" eh? Fight against the US Imperialism means that WE dont want; US Soldiers, political motivated movies,US NGO, US Petrol Companies, IMF, WB, IDB, CIA.Only MUTUAL RESPECT & DIGNITY for relationships and to do business. That's all! It's that really TOO difficult to understand for an average US citizen?!

The American implementation of neoliberalism in pursuit of global domination across the continents is quite different from Europe.

Then all of Europe would have to. At this time, we were amateurs compared to that entire continent.

That's the official story told to Chileans and the one reported in the US. However, if you go to Chile (I have many times) and talk to anyone who was around at the time, and who wasn't directly benefited by Pinochet's policies, you'll be laughed at.

The Chilean government has been historically notorious as a very effective propaganda machine.
