A brief technical description of the operation of the Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT) used in the 2003 - current Honda Civic Hybrid and 1997 - current Honda Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Civic. This CVT is also used in the Honda CRV and Insight.

  • My Honda Civic CVT gearbox needs to warm up 20mins to 35mins to engage the start up clutch. I can force it to 15mins by push more throttle, but the engage gear is a big bang reverse and forward, the bad things also when release throttle then push again creates big bang engage.

    What are the causing it?
