  • nice

  • @hobbitgnr There's probably under .5% of people who will agree with you that Ann Fontanella is better than Mutter. Mutter is one of the reigning violinists in the world right now. People get recorded because of how large the demand for them is. There is demand for Mutter for a reason. Her tone and power is pretty unmatched in my opinion (a fellow violinist).

  • Nice thanks..........

  • Amazing clarity. Love the timing and energy of it all. Beautiful.

  • I really think that Mutter is who she is because of Karajan, I don't think she has the best level but she's one of the most recorded, there are other musicians like Ann Fontanella who doesn't record so much but are -for me- much better.

  • I helps her to play better by making the face of having the need to poop.

  • Wonderful performance!!! As always..the interpretation is truly thoughtful, passionate, and brings out the hidden potentials of musicality hidden in the work. Re: the shoulder pad...she plays with a very high, over the tailpiece chin rest which I understand makes it possible for many players to go sans-shoulder rest. I haven't tried it myself, but am thinking about giving it a whirl.

  • She does have the best cadenza ever in this piece.

  • I don't know how she gets good vibrato without a shoulder rest. I think it absorbs some of the impact of the vibrato movement as well.
