Stop buying cheap hardware and you wont get errors. I had IBM Thinkpad. best pc's i have ever used and never had problems. also windows 7 is so great and i like it alot more then mac os.

@EinarBMAN You have to fix problems yourself in windows as well.
Also, I would say if Ubuntu is properly setup on a machine that has good driver support (like an IBM/Lenovo T series) I would say its easier to get my grandma to find software she needs on Ubuntu than on Windows 7.
