Once again, all that is left is your faith in the tests which say they are safe.
Because you cannot ask someone, a living human, to be tested to see if exposure to a substance would cause him cancer, for example, right?
You could do it to unwilling guinea pigs but you would not be caught condoning that, right?
See all I point to is your industry has very serious ethical issues to address and no white wash will suffice.
