@KryspinPete CATIA is THE construction tool there is!!!!!
The constrains in the Assembly Design only give you some basic features to connect two parts together. If you want to create gear joints or other connections then you have to use the DMU Kinematics feature of CATIA where you can create any movement you can think of.

yes, you are right . Autodesk Inventor is much easy in assemby module , but catia is the base .

That is shame. So I`ll returt to Autodesk Inventor, it is bettter for constrains.

man that is too easy, but I need constrain which is acting like a real physic...i mean for example two gears conect together with diferent diameter...they will have different rotating speed. how co conect them together with right rotating speed.

sadly, CATIA does not really have such a constraint like the one in SolidWorks, which does exactly what you're describing. V5 does lack in the area of constraint for assemblies. They need to improve that a little.

Well I have no idea what you were doing there. There's no audio. It seems like you start in the middle of something and then some lights flash on and off and there's a bunch of blurry icons.... what's the point of this?

well, the point here was to show how to do simple constraints in V5. I do have the original video in HQ. email me off list and I will send you a copy.

CATIA has been incredibly intimidating for me, and several other of my classmates; especially since I do it on Solaris in school and some menus are slightly different from those on Windows. Constraining has been the hardest part for us at this point in time. Thank you so much. You are saving hundereds of people from frustration.
