@LanceHertford Because I was in a perpetual state of dissociation, due to being raped and abused, I was constantly accused of being naughty in school, not paying attention, and was even put into a special class. Ironically, I tested out at genius level. But the dissociation was so bad, I'd sit alone on the bus, staring out the window, in a trance, and by the time I got to school, I had to remember where I was (or even WHO I was), which always took me a second. This is a very real phenomenon.
@LanceHertford Also, the Kinsey Institute published research on what happens to little boys during sexual abuse (which they sadly obtained by helping facilitate anonymous pedophile contacts in the rape and molestation of 1,000's of children), and they observed that little boys- since they cannot ejaculate- have no refractory period and experience orgasms comparable to that of adult women- back to back- strong enough to cause a loss of consciousness. Sadly, I know this is what happened to me.
I'm in that small minority of childhood sexual abuse survivors with total amnesia for the abuse. I know about what happened from witnesses, tiny flashbacks I recently started getting (in my late 20's), and the fact that I'm a poster-child for CSA symptoms. Researchers believe sexual trauma can put a child into a state of persistent dissociation, which interferes with memory formation. I have huge chunks of my life- even non-traumatic periods- that I can't remember at all. I'm also very spacey.
This is really interesting because the other day my mum woke me up from a nap and my mate was on the phone and apparently I looked really spaced out like I was on drugs or something and I couldn't even remember who my own mum was. It was really scary D:
