You Are Holy (Eres Santo)
written by the preist Per Harling in 1985

English:
You are holy, you are whole.
You are always ever more
than we ever understand.
You are always at hand.

Blessed are you coming near.
Blessed are you coming here
to your church in wine and bread,
raised from soil, raised from dead.

Chorus:
You are holy, you are wholeness;
you are present. Let the cosmos praise you, Lord!
Hallelujah, hallelujah
hallelujah, hallelujah our Lord.

Spanish:
Eres santo, eres Dios
por toda la eternidad:
siempre ti muy cerca estas
de tu pueblo buen Señor.

Te alabamos hoy, aquí,
te adoramos con fervor.
A tu iglesia en vino y pan
nueva vida así le das.

Coro:
Eres santo, eres Dios.
Te sentimos. La creación te de loor.
Aleluya, aleluya,
aleluya, aleluya, Señor.

  • Wonderful version to teach my worship team with guitars in the ELCA Lutheran churches. We have it in Swedish/English.

  • Lutherans like it, too. Thanks for posting. Now I don't have to ask our choir director for the guitar chords.

  • I first heard this song a few years ago at a United Methodist Student Conference. We sang it so much that I memorized it and brought it home to my church. I had to do a lot of searching to find chords on the Internet! I have a different/easier for me to play key (I am a girl with small hands so I can't do all your fancy fingerings), but I love the way yours sounds! I am now at a new church and I want to teach my band this song. Thank you!!!

  • Greetings from Theological University in Slovakia. We are singing this song before class of greek language almost every time.

  • This is a very nice song. Per Harling has written so many nice songs. He is actually pastor in my church :-)
