The school the coast guard rescue swimmers go through is difficult and challenging, but probably very rewarding. I'll bet there are some (definitely not all - I know better) that would be able to make it through the BUD/S training in the Navy, based on their excellent swim skills and their ability to handle the cold.
What do you guys think? Am I off base thinking that?

even knowing people would say that rescue swimmer is the best job in USCG being a Piot would be i reckon best enlisted job well mabey it's the best if you have no intrest in flying :)

I am a rescue swimmer myself and I have been for two years and a school was the most difficult thing in my life, but once its over, they are the best years of your life. Born bred and water fed hooorrah.
