@oxjr The cayonero is actually based off the Ford Bronco II, this is referenced when marge deliberately goes 80 miles and turns sharply in order to roll over the cayonero at the end of the episode, go ahead look up ford broncos rolling over, it was all over the news in the 90's.

There is a visual precedent for the cartoon vehicle. It's the FSJ platform Jeep Cherokee (the early, big Jeep Cherokee from the '70s). The specific platform has existed since about 1963.

@marscars22 Nothing I say is based in fact just rumor, BUT the rumor was it was a pre-productionFord Super Heavy Duty 4-door with a cab over the bed OR a pre-production Excrusion (a test model which is actually just a SUV based on the FSHD) So the rumor is that the writer saw it in a parking lot, but he could have seen it in an article about upcoming models.

@oxjr episode aired 2/22/98. the Excursion didn't come out till the 2000 model year. its not based on the Excursion.
