There are five climbs heading up from Highway 30 west from Portland leading up to Skyline Blvd. All of these are challenging, scenic climbs for any cyclist.

This video was made using Google Earth Pro, Final Cut Pro, Topo! and Logic. Sorry that my VO isn't better. I'm not exactly Phil Liggett.

  • nice work..very nice.now how about the options getting up Larch mt.

  • Larch is on the list, especially as the road is open by this time of year usually (June). The only "problem" is that Google Earth's mapping of that area is low resolution. But I'll see if I can get out there to take some photos, and get working at it.

Mt. Scott, Mt. Tabor, Rocky Butte, the SW climbs to Skyline, Hagg Lake, Lolo Pass, Timothy Lake, many more on the list. Just takes time.

  • Great job. Nice use of google earth. The 30 is the only part I don't enjoy, the climbs and Skyline are great. Logie looks great, gotta check it out.

  • Fantastic video. I like the the little windows showing the intersections and roads. Great narration. You are spot on about your warnings and no one in their right mind should ever ride up Cornelius Pass. I am sure you have steered bike traffic onto the road I live on, Logie Trail, and that is fine with me. I love waving the the bike riders; the one time I road to the top of Logie Trail, I almost burst a lung.

  • I love this! I am always going up those climbs. Great video man. The Rocky Pt Road is my favorite, I think it's the least populated and I love the challenge. I'm always trying to PR up it. You should do more videos of other rides around Portland
