Melissa's has undergone two craniotomies within 4 months during 2010. The first craniotomy was an attempt to remove what was believed to be a benign tumor. The tumor was too close to the motor cortex to completely remove. A second craniotomy was conducted while Melissa was awake in an effort to remove the remainder of the tumor. Unfortunately the surgery was not successful in removing the tumor. The tumor continues to cause seizures and Chemotherapy is the likely next course of treatment. This video displays in a very personal way Melissa's quest for joy in tribulation.

  • Melissa, I am praying for your recovery. I had an awake craniotomy May 11, 2011 for an oligodendralastrocytoma at Mayo in MN that left me "not quite right". They messed with my motor cortex and don't know if they got it all. I feel for your situation and wish we could connect. I'm 39...with 3 children and a husband and loving family that try to support me, but it's hard to unerstand how it feels unless you've been there. Is there an update to your story. My prayers are with you. Frankenmom

  • She will be ok, with a loving family like yours and trust in Christ! Not to mention the wonderful nurses and doctors
