I was the last wheelsman for both the EM Ford and ST Crapo. This is a great vid of these two relics. Did Crapo's engines ever make it to the Smithsonian?
My Uncle, Ralph Knechtel Captained the ST. Crapo out of Alpena for almost 30 years. He was a fine man, He recently passed away. These ships and their crew were amazing. It's to bad the industry has dropped so much and put many of these fine vessels to the scrap yard. I want to say this was the year before he retired.
