bostons coach realized they were up by 4 with 2 outs and he put buckner in because he was good in his earlier years but now his ankles were shot and he could hardly walk.he just wanted him in the game, respectfully so he can say he played when they won the world series.unexpectedly the mets clutch to tie it. ground ball right to poor old buckner who attempted to hobble over to the ball and it goes right through his legs and the mets win.buckner and the coach faced death threats their whole lives

@dkslfjgh That error won us the World Series. If that's not a great moment, I don't know what is. Go back to Boston.

great video for a great team

@FmlyGy terrible video, as jack webb would say " just the facts please"
-
@Hbmets69 mets would have won anyways...they had all the momentum
Seriously, where is the wild pitch?! Everyone thinks that if Buckner makes that play the series is over and Boston wins. The Mets had already tied it on the wild pitch. If you're going to post this, at least get the facts straight.

Idiot you forgot the most important part of that inning as did some of the rest of you. If you're such a Met fan how can you forget the wild pitch-past ball that Stanley and Gedman combined on????? That's what scored Mitchell with the tying run, Wilson's hit scored one run(Knight) not two runs. If you're such a Mets fan you would have that in this. I guess you're not. That wild pitch-past ball(I think it was) is what blew the game for the Sox not the ball going through Buckner's leg. Correct it

Are you Mets fans so pathetic that all you can come with for a great moment is an error by an opposing player?
