You can buy the eBook (12 Tunes For Celtic Ukulele) from my website at http://kenmiddleton.co.uk/ebooks.aspx.

You might be forgiven for thinking that I shot this video inside an aviary because the birds are so noisy. It was actually filmed just outside my back door.

I have just finished this new arrangement of "Lord Of The Dance". It is in a distinctly Celtic style.

Much of this piece is played in a campanella style, where the tune is shared out over several strings. This effect allows the string to ring on like bells. The term means "little bells". The effect on the ukulele actually makes it sound more like a small harp. The late John King was an absolute master of this style of playing.

This version is completely different from my previous bluegrass arrangement. This one will be available in an eBook later in the year.

My Bluegrass eBook is also now ready and can be purchased from my website.

  • I love the way you play, it is so beautiful. I have seen all of your viedos, and my words cannot express how beautifully you play. I am just a beginner on the Uke, but hope someday I can play as well as you do. Your very much an inspiration.

  • @banduraplayer Check out Fingerstyleuke the hear what a cheap ukulele sounds like with good strings and a lot of practice. Aquila Nylgut strings are fairly cheap and a good addition to any string instrument.

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • Yes. the tune was first. It was used for the Shaker hymn. In 1967 the words to Lord of the Dance were written and this tune was used.

  • Isn't this Simple Gifts, an old Shaker song? Perhaps it is actually taken from the Lord of the Dance...which was first?
