@thememorylanechannel i did

@ArticaSkylarKennedy I think it was because Sandy was busy and Barney wasn't well known as of yet.
-
@thememorylanechannel Because no one had the righ to own Sandy when she already had her own life
-
surely this ost brings back memmories, and introduces my dad's favorite barney song (or rather his potentiol favorite since he was too old for barney in 1989).
-
@TruelySonicHOG Matter of fact, I think someone who posted Barney videos long ago posted a low-quality copy of both sides of the "Day at the Beach" tape. I listened to the read-along side and found out that the narrator was a woman introducing herself as Mary Keepers. She is presumably the singer to replace Barney and Sandy Duncan's voices on the songs. Still beats me as to why they did that, though.

@supergodzilla12 - And yes, I know 'Mother Goose Collection' was from 2011, just trying to make a point. =P
-
@TruelySonicHOG - I was mostly thinking of the DVDs from 2009 and 2010, when HiT was giving new cover arts to old discs. (Like 'Sing & Dance' and 'Mother Goose Collection') But hey, one eye views pudding, another views shit. XD
-
@supergodzilla12 Good point. Many of the rereleases don't try to hide that they're older videos for the most part (Night Before Christmas and Imagination Island are exceptions, with the whole "The Movie" thing)
-
@TruelySonicHOG - I guess if they had really good marketing for it, it could make some profit. But listen to this example; I know many people who own Cookie Monster t-shirts and hats, but wouldn't even consider watching 'Sesame Street'.
What I'm trying to say is that I doubt that HiT would do an early Barney boxset. (Note how many re-releases of classic Barney on DVD try to hide that they're older videos) It would be awesome, though.
-
@supergodzilla12 True, but from what I've read, the accessories and stuff are an attempt to aim at Barney's oldest fans and this would be no different (except that it'd appeal to his target audience as well.). Yes, the market for DVD sets is different, but HIT's no stranger to it (They've done Fraggle Rock and Thomas season boxsets in the past. Again, I know they're more popular than Barney, but I'm throwing my hat out there) and if marketed right, a Barney set could be relatively profitable.
-
@BeaKid1994 They would still go after us even if they were on TV. Sprout aired a number of classic episodes until last August, and even so, uploaders (like battybarney and myself) do get warnings on the matter as is.
-
You know what, they don't even have to release a box set. They could just open an online poll on what episodes to air on TV because if a box set is released then HIT or Mattel would really be on our tails with copyright.

@TheSourceForDVDVHS Thanks

This is really nice Drew!!

@huxley12s idk, i've had it since I was a kid. Try ebay or amazon
-
where you get this cassette from ?
-
@huxley12s I dont have it posted though. I don't know how to do that. so it doesn't matter that I have the same cassette...
-
@huxley12s This video IS the same cassette that tiffpink has.
-
put it on youtube
-
@LukeJ62895 It's not Sandy Duncan. Instead it's someone singing for her (and Barney apparently. I can only guess they did that because Barney wasn't well known yet.)
-
weird! XD It's that the voice by Sandy Duncan or no?
-
@rod1014 That's just how my copy was converted. It's normal for cassette tapes.
-
:D
how does matell have to do with barney. did they create the doll used on barney and friends second generation? They used japanese dols early on, like with transformers.

@nickantibarney Mattel's buying HIT Entertainment. In addition, they produced Barney toys under the Fisher-Price brand in the early 2000's.
