They have copys of these books already, so why is so such a big deal to find another one. Maybe they were like the U.S. Congress they happen to read what that is put in front of them. Also the Catholic Church has bunches of these copys.

The Gnostics (see the Nag Hammadi codicies) believed that the God who created this world was not God at all, but an inferior, confused being known as the "Demiurge." That all matter was evil, and that Jesus probably didn't even have a physical body, and how by having secret knowledge we can "escape" our bodies when we die and our spirits will rejoin the divine. If you want to believe that, go right ahead, but it's not what the original followers of Jesus believed and taught.
