  • These Clive James clips are great, where did you get the shows? I only have his 1994 New Year's Eve special.

You wouldn't be confronted with clips of 'Clive James On Television' (1982-1988)??? I've collected 2 episodes and in desperation to see more.

  • Unlike some people on this site who just want to recycle other peoples material and pass it off as their own, I recorded these when they were on originally. I thought I had all 6 progs (1989-1994) but I believe there may have been one in 1988. I didnt record that one I'm afraid. I dont have enough patience to record segments from the shows - it took ages just to capture, format and upload all these openings / closings!!

  • You're right, Kylie did sing at the end - I'll put the end up for you...

  • This was so funny when it was on. I also have a copy of this show (although I missed about the first 10 minutes). I always remember fondly these show at the end of the year. There was a really big void left when Clive moved on in about 1994?

  • I guessed that from seeing your other clips.

Stealing on YouTube is quite bad, my previous account had around 7 videos stolen and uploaded under "their" name.

  • Many thanks for posting these clips! I remember seeing out the 80's with Clive James and I liked his shows in the following years. I still miss his shows at the turning of another year. I can't believe that it's nearly 20 years since the 80's programme was shown! - Scary!

  • I do, had them up on old channel...may put them up again

  • Thanks for this. I am a huge Kylie fan and I am sure she sang "I Should Be So Lucky" at the end of the 1989 one. I was 6 at the time and was allowed to stay up late to watch Kylie. I also remember an TV Times advert from the time that said "Goodbye 1980's hello 1990" something to that effect.
