The MF-101 Low Pass Filter's ENV OUT Control Voltage makes a number of amazing Rhythmic Modulation techniques possible. This video shows some of these applications in a Dance Music setting. This technique is not limited to Dance Music. The applications are as endless as your imagination.

  • would this work if you had the drums coming from a sampling pad such as the roland spd-s and running through the low pass and hooking it up to a voyager?

  • @ricel1992 - Yes, it sure would

  • Hey MoogMusic! is there a way to do this inside of Reason 4? I can't quite get it to work. I've tried sending the Gate out (closest thing I could find to CV) of the ReDrum device into the filter 1 Freq of the Thor, but to no avail.

  • Can't say for sure about Reason. The Gate Out though is not the key. The technique in our video works because the EGR CV Out signal is riding the volume contour of the drum track.

Gate signals are just off and on. The great thing about this trick is that it can be used with all type of rhythm tracks for a wide variety of results.

  • Is this technique possible on a moog prodigy with vcf in?

  • @LivingfortheFather did you tell Thor that you're sending Redrum's CV into it using the Bus?

  • Not all of your products explain themself, so this video is a great help.

More videos like this, please .

  • hum sure it's very cool to use with reason and a moog synthetiser ^^

  • perhaps use the audio out into a vocoder as carrier, and then the signal you wanted to effect as the modulator, set to half wet/dry?

  • I'm trying to recreate this effect with my Moog Little Phatty and a ... electrix filter factory ... as I do not have a MF-101. The filter factory has a CV out, which is connected to the CV in on my LP, but I can figure why I hear no modulation. I have a house drum track running through the filter factory, just like the video has, but again, no modulation from the CV connection. Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Many Thanks

  • Man, that green backlighting looks awesome!
