"Kerouac, the Movie" - a documentary study of literary genius Jack Kerouac. Many thanks to MsRoaring Twenties for picking up on the fact that the doc is not called "King of Beat".

  • Beautiful. Poignant. Riveting. You know, it was amazing to hear the sad note J.K. wrote 1 friend before On The Road was pubbed. Remember? He said he was "30 yrs old with 10 novels since '51 that no publisher wanted. Not a cent in my pocket. Can't even afford a decent whore." Then he questioned whether or not he had any talent : JACK KEROUAC. That's the publishing industry for you : they scramble to publish Twilight-type material while On The Road was kicked to the side. Just kidding (sort of).

  • @808Lana That's a good comment.

  • Thank you my friend, best wishes from Ireland

  • @bangbangdivine Best wishes to you too, bangbangdivine.

  • I read satori in paris when I was 15 and I've just finished On The Road as of Yesterday, I'm 18 now and extremely amazed by the 'Beat Generation' as it's known a fan of Ginsberg and many others, it's inspired me to write freeform poetry, this is an amazing documentary thanks a lot, it fills in gaps the literature never touches x

  • He didn't met Neal on one of his trips. He met him at Columbia University.

  • @JazSmithPresentation I did that the other way around read On the road after I turned 16 and Satori in paris at 17. Ginsberg inspired me to write Prose poetry. Greatest generation of authors in a good long while.

  • this guy changed my life

  • @ObjectiveSpeculator No worries, It's nice to receive a response to a comment that's not negative for the sake of being negative, thanks for uploading
