attorney, Derek St. Pierre, said today he believes the climbing rope and an anchor rope used on the roof were cut, with either a knife or scissors.
"I had an opportunity to inspect the climbing rope and the anchor rope," St. Pierre told news reporters outside the Federal Building. "It was very obvious that both of them were cut with a sharp object. They were not frayed."
St. Pierre surprised that someone would cut a rope and put someone's life in danger like that.

Nyendak Wangden, an experienced climber who was wearing a monk's robe and had suspended herself in a "hanging" position for the protest, Chinese cut the rope. She fell onto a landing area and was transported down a fire truck's ladder on a stretcher around 9 a.m.
