A drive along the A838 from the Kyle of Tongue causeway to Kempie on the shore of Loch Eriboll. I had hoped to take in the road to Portvasgo, via Talmine but the road was blocked by road works at Midtown and I was against the clock, so turned back. Maybe next time...
@ivorlottandtonybroke That might explain why I haven't seen it. The video was taken while I had some dead time between jobs at Georgemas. Next time I'm up there, I'll have a look for it, maybe do a cross country turbo run if it's still driveable...

We were on the road (except when we used the heather, which was a very colourful but rather cold and uncomfortable natural toilet). I think the track is the old road, which was much more bendy than the modern A838. It was identifiable as old road back in 1986, when I was last up there; but probably it's buried in peat now.

@ivorlottandtonybroke Glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment. Looking at the OS map, it looks likes there's a land rover track follows the road, crossing it a couple of times. Can't say I've noticed it when I've been driving out that way tho. Were you on the track or the road, or roughing it knee deep in heather?

Now THAT's the way to travel across A'Mhoine! (1.08 to 1.35 about). The one time I did it, I was walking and knocked this distance off in just under 4 hours. You see a lot more but it wasn't half cold.
