Reality flash.
The majority of the people you're talking to would be returning to Scotland - not England.
-
@Skyifictionable haha oops, i meant the northern ireland football team, its cool that no matter their political view point, they understand that the country is still NI and so they support this country.
-
@paulgrills2 Not sure if you noticed but you said "i know a few nationalists that support northern ireland". That's a contradiction. You can't be a nationalist and in support of the Union.
Also, I'm not really sure what you're trying to tell me, you didn't really make sense there. :S
-
@Skyifictionable yes thats possible, but i have yet to come across any information on that. i know a few nationalists that support northern ireland, i know its different than the religion thing, but its also a rarity because many nationalists dont recognise NI as a country.
-
@paulgrills2 Likewise with Protestant Nationalists I assume. I have yet to come across either.
That coat of arms has the flag within it, the coat of arms used the Irish Province flag as a base.
-
@Skyifictionable you would be surprised how many there are! but its unfortunate that a persons religion defines their political standpoint, for instance i feel that i genuinly believe in the uk as it stands, however if i had nationalist parents im sure that my opinion would be skewed. which is unfortunate, but at least i admit it, most people do not lol
it doesnt seem to want me to post a link, is you google search "coat of arms of the governor or northern ireland" its the very first picture
-
@paulgrills2 Can you link me a picture of this coat of arms you talk about?
About 99.99999999% of Loyalists (in NI) are Protestant. I'd be shocked if I found a Catholic Loyalist.
-
@Skyifictionable im sorry thats wrong about the flag, you can look it up if you want, perhaps the coat of arms came from the provencial flag, but i dont know for sure. the ulster banner definately came from that coat of arms.
i looked it up, i was wrong about the church of england. apologies! lol
i hate the way people assume that if you are loyalist then you have to be protestant, its stupid, but unfortunately thats the way it generally is in northern ireland.
-
@paulgrills2 Erm, yes infact it is. Just look at the provincial flag. The Red Hand of Ulster is an Ancient IRISH symbol. When this flag was made in whatever year you think it was, they changed the colour, added a star and a crown. And called it your own
Christianity = Catholicism, Protestantism and Orthodox. The Church of England is under the Protestantism category. End of
Let me put it this way, Loyalists are Protestant so if the crown represents Loyalists, it represents Protestants. Comprende?
I have a question for all the deluded Unionists out there:
If you want to be ruled by England so much, why don't you just go to England?
What possible misfortunes could befall this pitiful excuse for a country if, God forbid, it's reintegrated back into another country with a MUCH higher standard of living?
