@Clarensee My best guess is that they were assuming that you would use your explosive weapons (they're aware that Resident Evil player save those for the bosses) and that you'd notice that the monster reacts strongly when shot twice in succession (easily doable with the rocket launcher).

@POLE7645 But does the game tells you about it somehow? How are you supposed to figure it out on your own?

@Clarensee It's actually simpler than that. You had to shoot it first, and when it's still recoiling from the shot, use an explosive weapon like the grenade launcher or the rocket launcher. It takes only 7-8 shots.
Of course, figuring that out is a nightmare.
