A bit of railway action at Shalford Junction, Guildford. Mainly Class 450s, First Great Western Class 165/166s, with Clan Line on a VSOE Special at the end, with a few tones from the 450s ("Whistle" board on the Portsmouth Direct Line south of Shalford Junction). The first 4 clips were filmed from the Artington Park & Ride, near the junction.

Apologies for the shaky and blurry clips, as the road surface was rather rough there and as a result, I was unable to use my tripod there.

  • @MrCreepy101 Thanks. Yes, that seems to be the case, as I had to race against time to get back down to Midhurst on the 70 from a bus stop called "The Ridges", near the Artington Park & Ride in Guildford. Not the easiest of terrain on the pathway to get the footage from though.

  • This is a great video, shame about the wind though. I don't live from Shalford Junction so i've been down there to watch the odd VSOE working. I presume you filmed this on a Saturday, as all South West Trains only ever run 8 car 450's down the Saturday services.

  • It was a bit blustery when I got to the Artington Park & Ride car park, which left a few smudges in my lens.

  • winds a bitch

    diesels add unnessisary weight :P
