Priced out of the picture??? At current gas prices you can take your own letter about 2.5miles for .44cents. No one else would do it for less. Fed-ex and ups are more expensive for comparable goods and services.

this is nonsense. you still need the postal service for sending out christmas gifts and dumb invitations to dumb weddings, paying bills by way of mail, etc. In California, you need to send in your unemployment by mail. There is no other way around that. With a million people unemployed, they are still doing good business. They just need more efficiency. Why eliminate Saturday deliveries though? well whatever they want I guess. I think i've only lost one mail letter in years and years.
