...I made the same error on 5-30-10...made a sharp and late turn very close to
the ground...but I was lucky since I was at a grassy, groomed training hill and
got away with a ground loop and a bent speed bar.

Dude, i cannot understand the thought process here. Based on the placement of the gliders, i am guessing that this pilot landed down wind, and not enough alt to do a final into the wind. But all that time, and a wide open L.Z. i have watched it over and over, i can't understand! Well, how bad was he hurt? Is he still flying? That just looked bad.:(
