Mario Van Peebles Speaks About Directing His Family

Director and actor Mario Van Peebles stopped by Spelman Nov. 10, 2011, to engage with students about the film industry and his new movie, "We the Party." Also students in the English class of professor Tarshia Stanley, heard from several actors in the film, including Peebles' daughter Maya and son Mandela. Peebles describes, "We the Party" as a cutting-edge hip-hop infused dramedy about the first generation of high schoolers to come of age during President Obama's years. http://www.spelman.edu
