@Thirdrepublic1 And also, Avatar is pretty good most of the time hiding the CGI. If you can't enjoy the visuals, in this case the problem is in the viewer. Not the film.

@Thirdrepublic1 I feel like I'm fighting a loosing fight against stupidity here, but seriously, it's the purpose that dicates the method. With Alien, a creature that becomes more effective when acting unnaturally, and is used sparingly and only in darkness, it's pretty easy and logical to do with puppets. But when you do a whole film about blue cat people running in daylight, you just can't do it with makeup and animatronics.
