@Transformers217 No two judges thought Mayweather won, and a ONE POINT split decision CERTAINLY warrants a rematch. There was a mandatory rematch clause, but Floyd pulled one of his phony retirements and canceled the rematch with De La Hoya. Floyd isn't retired anymore is he? And how the hell did Floyd out work and out hustle Oscar? Oscar threw more than 100 MORE punches than Floyd did and as Foreman said, " Floyd did nothing but run for the last 6 rounds ". Floyd runs in and out of the ring.
-
@mattyrich76 But most people, and judges thought that Mayweather won. Look at the fight again. Mayweather out-boxed Delahoya, out-worked him, and out-hustled Delahoya. Delahoya didn't land any punches. That's a fact. Look at compubox, Mayweather landed MORE punches than Delahoya. Mayweather also rocked Delahoya in rounds 5, and 12. I don't think you're being an honest person, so I suggest that you watch the fight again.
-
@Transformers217 You are delusional, De La Hoya landed several, multiple hit combos while Floyd did nothing more than backpedal and clinch 7 times. Floyd was the one that got stunned in the closing moments. BTW NONE of the judges gave Floyd 8 or 9 rounds in that fight, not a one.
-
@mattyrich76 Of course Mayweather won the 12th round. He almost knocked Delahoya down in the 12th round. Mayweather landed a right hand on Delahoya's head, and Delahoya back-peddled in the right. That was a Mayweather round, and he won at least 8 or 9 rounds in that fight.
-
@Transformers217 No offense but if you actually watched that fight and you think Mayweather won round 12, then you are either really dumb, full of shit or both.
-
@mattyrich76 I thought Mayweather won the 12th round against Oscar. Just because Delahoya was throwing punches, doesn't mean that any of them were landing.
-
@sugarhitman Or he could be on the take...
-
@mattyrich76 Maybe he doesnt like Oscar.
-
@sugarhitman And Roth is the SAME EXACT judge that gave Mayweather the 12th round in his fight with De La Hoya, a round that De La Hoya CLEARLY won. It was that one round on Roth's scorecard that gave Floyd the win. Hes a crooked shit.
-
is comic that this portorican he still believes that deserve the belt, the only champ who lost a took the belt.
-
Why was there never a rematch?
-
Definitely some evidence to show some shady judging may have occurred, but regardless, De La Hoya should have put him away. I've never been a big De La Hoya fan, but I give him mad props for at least admitting his mistake in running away for 3 rounds. To bad the rematch never happened.
-
@xcaliber86 -yeah he really ran in the Mosely,JMM and Ortiz fights didn't he...lol..u apparantly have little idea of what you are on about.
-
ROTH IS VERY CORRUPTED WE KNOW IT!. BUT IF A FIGHTER FIGHTS THE LAST ROUND RUNNING LIKE A GIRL HE LOSES NO MATTER WHAT HE DID BEFORE.
-
running?? everyone is talking about running here wow WTF does mayweather do in every fight!!!!!!!
-
jerry roth dont know shit about boxing!
-
Tito is washing dishes at some dump bar in shitty purto rico.
-
Oscar schooled him. Even when Oscar was "running" in the 10th and 11th, he would briefley stop and land nice combinations, not as frequent as in the earlier rounds, but he wasn't getting hit by tito in the 10th and 11th, maybe one shot here or there, but to me the running was what he was doing all fight, just at a faster pace, and still landing the combos. It's ok though. Oscar is running one of the biggest multi million dollar promotional company with B-Hop, Sugar Shane, and Barrera.
-
Not sure it was corruption as much as the judges letting emotion, pressure and the moment get in the way of good sense.
-
TITO WON!!! We mexicans don't run like a girl. It is better to die with honor than living in shame!!
-
@sugarhitman there might have been corruption, but despite that, trinidad still clearly won the last 3 rounds, and would have posibly won without the corrption
-
I thought boxing was about landing/throwing punches. Who cares if Oscar ran? He still landed just about everything he threw even when he was running. If you're fighting a mover, cut off the damned ring. How you move your feet should have no effect on the judging of a fight.
-
Jerry roth is an idiot
-
@tacosaucemafia actually thats not far off. This was De La Hoya's real superfight. In his prime that would define his career. He wins those last rounds and his legacy is cemented as one of the great welterweights of all times. But by blowing those last 3 rounds he forfeited that right to be in the discussion. Big star,Yes, earned crazy money, Yes. Ever lived up to the hype...no
-
at the end of the day, never leave your fight to the judges
Wow the first 4 rounds were dominated by De La Hoya and that judge had it 3 rounds to 1 for Trinidad???! Thats all the evidence you need to know they fucked Oscar over.

Roth had Trinidad winning 3 of the first 4? Wow!!! Clearly corruption is involved here.
