I was decorating a "Theme" Disco back in the 70's in LA,next door George Burns was shooting some commercials,I'm a NYC boy and quite engaging we would talk, I'm 5'5" and he was 3 inches shorter than me,and real thin and frail, was age I guess,he loved to sing me these songs from the 20's,they really sucked, but I acted like I liked them,I did not wan to hurt his feelings.

An uncle of mine was replaced, and then they replicated him, his wife never new the difference. She was from Bulgaria though, she uses to call him an arrogant know it all and she hasn't got a clew ! Fancy that !

This is my favorite Fields scene. Saw it years ago. Some of it has been cut, but you get the idea. Of couorse it works so well because the audience knows Fields' character or type, while Burns doesn't.

druana yes....the great humor if Gracie....she never understood anything as was intended...We dont have the likes of her, Lucy, Mae, Martha they are all gone- but still spreading laughs

tarlonniel Burns allways was the straight man...Gracie was the funny half...more greats that can never be replaced!!!
vintage Fields, squeezing an old Broadway/Follies bit into this hard-to-find film. Almost all of the Great Man's talents on display here and this entire flick remains a hoot more than 70 years later! Plenty of great Gracie in it too--
