Chrono Trigger - Low Level Game Part II: Dragon Tank

The first somewhat complicated fight of the challenge.

Our problem is the head, which recovers all parts, therefore it must be eliminated first. Crono does by far the most damage, so have him attack the head while Lucca heals. Sometimes Crono needs to heal himself too, because we don't want anybody to die at this point.

Once the head is gone, follow the same strategy and get rid of the grinder. The body has 266 HP, I think. Have Crono attack the body but do not let him win the battle. Instead, once a single hit wins the fight let Crono die and Lucca finish the body off, gaining all the experience.

I had to repeat this a few times, although now that I look at it, that wasn't all too hard.

Seems to me like the hardest part of these boss battles is killing off your extra people without having the important ones die.

True, that's why lately there's been a trend to input a no level up code and play the game with everyone surviving the end of the battle. Kinda ruins the purpose, I think.

The challenges where bosses give no experience have it easy.

i can tell ya wern't a high level but the first time i was up to this boss i had a hard time cause i didn't know what to do, ya should of used some of Lucca's tech's that would of helped.

I liked the end bit "time for revenge" for giving Crono a death sentence.

I am not sure if Lucca had any techs at that point. I think she didn't, and if she did it was the stupid Flame Toss which deals less damage than Crono's non-critical hit anyway). It's impossible to win this battle in an LLG with both characters attacking non-stop, you don't have much health here.

Indeed. In the beginning the head can actually heal faster than Crono attacks, making his attacks futile. The head only has somewhere between 200 and 300 HP, so it's a good idea to pray you get a critical hit.

Its more like head = 600 HP the other 2 parts have 300 HP grinder and body 266 HP
