@Spectre107 Thank you! I am so sick of seeing these videos saying the plane is breaking the sound barrier. It is just plain incorrect. Believe me, if a military pilot breaks the sound barrier and causes a boom over land, they are in big trouble.

Cool pix!!! But this is not exactly showing a sonic boom. What we are observing is a Prandtl–Glauert singularity. This is because the aircraft shown are at low altitudes, where the air density and humidity are very high. The air passing over the wings is nearing the speed of sound. At these velocities the pressure decreases just behind the aircraft's wings. This effectively drops the dew point in this region. The water vapor is literally being squeezed out of the air!!!
