41,663 Female Soccer (Football) Fans attend a game after men are banned

Turkish champions Fenerbahce played Manisaspor in front of women and children only after men were banned as part of a plan by Turkey's Football Federation (TFF) to stamp out hooliganism.

The TFF initially ordered Fenerbahce to play their first two games of the season in an empty stadium after fans stormed the pitch during a pre-season friendly against Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk but then had a change of heart.

Teams whose fans exhibit disorderly behavior are now only allowed to admit women and children under the age of 12 and about 41,000 of them turned out to see Tuesday's match.

The more familiar chants were replaced by high-pitched screams as the women and children cheered with excitement every time the home team approached the penalty area, even if the chance of a goal was remote.

Before kick off, players from both teams hurled flowers at the crowd and applauded their new supporters.

"I will remember this night forever. It's not always that you see so many women and children at a game," Fenerbahce captain Alex de Souza said.

This is absolutely amazing. I can't think of this happening in any other country... seriously, they must be the best female football supporters on this whole freaking planet. Big up Turkey, mad respect.

incredible women! they would deserve to have the whole stadium for themselves for every second home match of fenerbahce. this is unprecedented. i always knew fener had the best supporters, now i say fener can be proud, and the rest of the world, jelaous of this team. this will go down in football history!

So so much respect to Fenerbahçe for doing this, after men fighting too much they ban all men & only allow women & children for a game, it is very good for football & created so amazing atmosphere as well this is probably one of the best moments I have seen in football or tennis, very nice to see this :) please thumb me up so people can see English people are not all haters even though I am European (German, Polish & English) & even American in my blood from my parents
