A review of the ISSC M22 .22LR Pistol including comments on ammunition.

Update as of 6/1/11:
As this pistol has continued to break-in, it has become much more reliable with more and more ammunition, and will even reliably cycle the Winchester ammunition that gave me so many headaches initially. So, I would have to say that if you are willing to give this pistol a liberal break-in period, you will be more pleased with it down the road.

Pistol was sent back to ISSC for repair after failing due to a modification I made to it. ISSC said that they would repair it for me for the price of parts/labor if I sent it back to them. Had to pay for UPS overnight delivery. Will find out what the cost of repair is going to be soon....hopefully.

5 months at the repair facility...please watch my followup video for info on the entire, ongoing experience with "ISSC" and their authorized US service center.

  • Great detailed review. You mentioned it handles like a glock and has the trigger safety feel of the glock, but is the actual trigger pull similar to the glock's despite this being an external hammer design?

  • @leggomyeggro12345 To tell you the truth, I do not remember at the moment. The pistol has been back at ISSC's repair facility for over four months now, with no return date in sight.

If I ever get it back from them, I will check it out and let you know before I get it back to the friend I traded it to.

  • Im sorry if I missed something, but when you were pulling the shells out with your knife, you said no extractor? im a little lost.

  • @xBossAwesomex The extractor was still there...it just failed to extract the casings from the chamber. Lter on it worked fine. I think that it is a matter of the extractor needing enough inertia from the rapid rearward movement of the slide in order to fully grip the rim of the casing. Maybe part of the reason for the high velocity ammo recommendation from ISSC. As the recoil spring becomes lighter with usage, and rough surfaces begin th mate together with wear, the resistance to slide....

  • ....movement decreases allowing the use of lower velocity ammo. But I could be wrong. It's just a theory.

  • Will it fit the black hawk holster ?

  • @quartermain1973 I'm not sure. The friend that I traded mine to bought a holster for a Glock 19 and it worked for him.....not sure what the make of the holster was, I'll have to check with him next week.

I have a couple of Fobus holsters for a Glock 26 and a Glock 23 that worked perfectly for it. The holster for the 26 allowed the slide to protrude from the bottom of the holster a bit, but the one for the 23 is perfect. The two Uncle Mikes polymer/kydex holsters I have were too tight for it.

  • How much did it cost

  • @Comanchero762 i don't have any problems when using CCI Stingers because they have planty power to slam that slide back and eject and load a new cartridge

  • @kelphead Go on their website and you can order their magazines.

I lost the recoil spring when I cleaned the gun and they mailed me a new one. Later I found

    the spring!

  • @kelphead ISSC M22 web site. They have rapid delivery.
