Progress from the layout/train set. All the street buildings have been built, they're all low relief Metcalfe card kits and have been modified with interior details from Scalescenes.com All the buildings can and will be illuminated with LED's.

Most of the work has been done to get the street in place but first I'll need to paint the road before fixing the buildings down. I'd like to buy some working street lights once I have the money for them.
All of this needs to be completed before the tunnel portals and embankment are in place so I can work on the wiring from the front.

Windows Movie Maker no longer accepts the video format direct from my camera, for some unknown reason, so I'm having to convert it to edit it. Apologies if the quality is poor.

Thanks for watching.

  • Great layout what did u use for the ballast ?

  • @callteg4 Thank you, the ballast is mainly Carr's 2mm Light Grey Ballast (C1153) with a light sprinkle of real ash from my fire, ground down of course.

  • Great stuff...Metcalfe are running a competition at the moment, youd be in with a good chance judjing by the standard of these..

  • @roimlil Thanks for your comment and the heads up about the Metcalfe competition, I've just entered it *fingers crossed*

  • Beautiful detail and lighting in the shops really makes them stand out!

  • @effordboy1 Thanks :) The lighting in the shops is achieved by a single 12v white LED for each shop, not the super bright variety, just the standard ones. Thanks for taking the time to comment :)

  • like it butt the steet needs a polec box LOL graet job

  • No probs, Check out Ebay also, someone builds the models and sells them, the last 3 he had on went for £24.00 a piece, not bad considering he had the fun of making them then made £17.00 profit on each one.Good luck in competition also.

  • @ACLTony Thank you very much for the kind comment and for taking the time to leave one :)

  • Outstanding work on the structures and the businesses in them. The florecent lighting looks very realistic and you did a good job in preventing light leakage to the floor above. Very creative work in the store's window displays and the people in them as well as the curtains that vary with color in the 2nd story apartments. Excellent!
