Incredible! so much music, full of russian soul!

WAY TOO FAST. The middle section, however, is beautiful.

TOO MUCH FAST ! Ok he is a virtuose but easy, even Prokofiev himself played it slowly !
-
Richter is a touch better..Too fast for my taste

This is my favourite version of this piece on Youtube. I feel Lisitsa's is a little stilted, and Gilel's is too slow for me. Horowitz's is quite nice, but Kissin's outshines his (in my opinion) because of his emotional middle section and the cool, completely unexpected way he handles the twice-heard part from 0:42 to 0:57. The delicate crescendo heard near the end of that section is quite amazing.

This is the one time I disapprove of Kissin's playing! It's too aggressive in the beginning and although the middle is very moving, I can't stand listening to this piece if the beginning is just one flurry that is too fast and loud for me to make out any emotion.
I only came here to hear him announce the piece.

Kissin plays this incredibly well. So does Gilels. So does Lisitsa. So does Horowitz. In fact, name any famous pianist, and I guarantee you that he/she has played this piece and performed it beautifully. Sure, Kissin plays it differently than Gilels, but I don't know how you can call one better than the other unless you are either a professor at a conservatory or a touring pianist yourself. They're different, that's all. Again, this performance is wonderful, as are many others.
