response to Pat Condell video: Hebrews Ch 11

Another perspective on faith. Mr. Condell had the short bumper sticker version, this is the basic version

Beyond this, what is faith.
Short: Faith is not asking God for something, and expecting he'll do it to prove he exists...that would be a genie.

God works in mysterious ways, that we don't figure out until we die. We do figure several things though.
One is God helps those who help themselves.

Two, God is a support entity doing multiple things at once. For instance, what if you ask for a million dollars. Chances are you won't get it.
But go deeper, why do you want the million dollars in the first place. Maybe you need it to help out family.

So you go one with your life, doing the right thing. You help people when you can, and you go about being a good person and maintain your faith in God.

Well one day, you do a favor for a friend. Said friend is so impressed he blabs about the whole thing online on youtube or facebook, or whatever.
People read about it, and some person realizes they can actually do something to help, and low and behold, you don't have a million dollars but the reason you wanted it, has been taken care of.

Is that good luck...well in today's world it seems perhaps thats a more active part of God's power. We have free will for a reason, so obviously he wants us to do things within our own power. He's not above working indirectly and behind the scenes though who just need a tiny break.

One thing thats said is God tests you; well what I figure is God is the ultimate multi-tasker. Your test is intertwined with other people's. Your outcome and results perhaps affects them as well
