I always do the first section of this using stealth all the way, then use regular guns for the second wave, then grab the m-hammer for the armored guys

@megaSUBJECT18 the first part had the train sequence, but then turns into a flashback of how you ended up in that circumstance. About halfway into the game, you return to this scene. You may notice there's slightly different dialogue and different camera angles of the same action by now, too. Then it cuts to the fight in the snow and the plot continues.
