  • what the hell is "anti-theism" and is the point of it? i don't believe in god but i don't thinks there's much more story to it. can someone explain it to me?

  • Antitheism generally means opposition to theism. It is the viewpoint that theism is either irrational, immoral, or both.

Atheism, by contrast, simply means a lack of belief in God. It does not include any moral or logical claim on theism.

  • You are from the Netherlands? You have no accent at all. Were you raised bilingual? I am from Germany but I have an accent. :0)

  • Suen/Nanna aka sin was the moon god, known as the lord of wisdom of the Sumerians/Akkadians. Thus Sin=wisdom=Knowledge.

  • really irks me. I remember hearing somebody talking about how he was better than someone. Just in general. Not anything in particular. It reminds me of this phrase saying that something is just evil. We are all born evil. It is impossible to just be "evil". Evil seems like it refers to an act itself. Not to a person. Just like someone can't just be better. There has to be something to be "better" at. You aren't just "better". They're both improper usage of grammar. Evil refers to an act.

  • A sin is referring to a violation to ones moral code. Surely, you've broken one thing you considered moral. And as consistent, and intelligent, and just downright amazing, Ayn Rand is, surely she has violated her own moral code. Perhaps she made a decision based on feeling or sacrificed something she held in value over than whatever it was itself (by the way, I find Ayn Rand's philosophy more superior than any other philosophy I've read from an atheist). I have a qualm about another thing that

  • I am not going to attack your argument directly. I am going to attack it indirectly by attack those who believe in original sin. The common belief that original sin makes someone inherently, ancestry, evil, is an assumption. Or an incorrect belief. Original sin is not even mentioned in the bible. Yes, the bible does acknowledge that sin entered the world through Adam. However, sinning does not make someone born "evil". Sinner, yes, evil, no. Even an atheist is a sinner to their own morals.

  • i see, well i don't really have enough passion on the subject to be "opposed" to religion. it's preferable to not sucum to irrational belief but i don't see it as inherently bad.

  • I love that section from Atlas Shrugged. It fills me with joy at the truth behind it. I find it interesting that this sounds Christian (of course they warped alot of things for their own benefit anyways), but it is one of those things that holds the splendor of truth, one that I seem to feel the need to spread, although I try not to step overboard with ingrates and malevolent fundies who may never change their mind anyways.

  • Sorry, I confused you with someone. :0)
