Propellerhead's Reason is and has been one of the most well-respected and recognized programs for producing music...yet there's still mixing engineers and producers who downplay it's quality and features. Why? Well, let's discuss it!

  • Love Reason! I've been using it for 2 years and have not even used it to 2 percent of its potential - its almost limitless! great vid by the way!

  • @MrMattrixx No doubt! Keep at it and have fun making music. Thanks!

  • this guys a don!

  • @TheMyCoats Thanks!

  • Been a Reason user for 10 years. Most people dont use Reason to its limits. Whenever I write music I start with a empty Rack and manually route my synths. Ill then program the synth based on the what I hear in my head. You cant do that with any VST or RTAS plugin. Reason can be as easy as you want it or as sophisticated as you want it. There is not a sound in the world that cannot be re-created using Reason. You just have to know how to use it. Its a hardware persons dream!!!

  • @cyorkgo I agree with you on everything except there are some nice VSTs that allow you to tweak and adjust many parameters just like you can on Reason's synth racks (if not better in some cases). Only adding that in to be fair but yeah thanks for the great comment. Reason has no limits if you put your mind to it and have the experience.

  • If someone truly knows recording techniques such as compression, mixing, reverb utilization, etc...they will love Reason. If someone relies on VST's that do all the work, such as Nexus, etc...and relies on using pre-made loops to "create" music...then Reason is not for you. You can do ANYTHING in Reason. So many people think it's only for dance or rap music. Wrong. I've completed full classical scores in Reason (Re-wired into Logic just because I love Logic's compression). Let haters hate.

  • Reason doesn't suck. You don't need VSTs. It's also the easiest of all the DAWs I've tried, to use. I didn't start out with reason either. I started with Cakewalk. Not having VSTs is the only drawback. And my guess is that in one of the next updates, they will have included VSTs.

  • Dj lucky date hasn't complained about reason.......

  • When the fuck did "Numb Sayin" become a word whisker?

  • I have used other programs, and nothing holds a candle up to Reason.
