Essence 40th Anniversary: 40 Fierce and Fabulous Women - Duong & Megan

Invited to come to New York City by the Buick Regal team, Duong and Megan Sheahan, mom and daughter bloggers of Chicagonista and Digital Girlfriends embark on an East Coast College tour.

First stop Manhattan.

Before the ladies tour NYU, Duong and Megan take in Fashion Week at The Lincoln Centre, pay homage to John Lennon at the Dakota, explore the Upper West Side in their Buick Regal and shop in style at Time Warner Center.

The evening includes a fabulous meal at B Smith's Midtown Restaurant and a surprise visit by the iconic B Smith herself.

The highlight of their Big Apple Escapade is attending The Essence Magazine 40th Anniversary Bash honoring 40 Fierce and Fabulous women of color.

Megan and Duong take in the glitz and glamour of the red carpet event at the Mandarin Oriental

The mom and daughter duo mingle with and interview stars like La La Vazquez, Gabrielle Union, Kerry Washington, Tracy Ellis Ross, Chenoa Maxwell, Malaak Compton- Rock and Gail King.

Duong, a mother of three, including 17 year old Megan, gets parenting insight from Erica Campbell of Mary Mary before the lavish luncheon.

After a dazzling and inspiring afternoon they take off in their Buick Regal to continue their college tour.
