I can be happy the rest of my life
With a cinnamon girl.

A dreamer of pictures I run in the night
You see us together, chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.

Ten silver saxes, a bass with a bow
The drummer relaxes and waits between shows
For his cinnamon girl.

A dreamer of pictures I run in the night
You see us together, chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.

Pa send me money now
I'm gonna make it somehow
I need another chance
You see your baby loves to dance
Yeah...yeah...yeah.

  • FUCking hell! Where did you get this?!! I had NO idea he ever attempted a version of this. Sounds brilliant, true to the original but with that rock solid bottom ol' John was known for and he makes the song his own. Thx 4 posting!

  • This was a bonus track that was included on the cd release of his solo album "Smash Your Head Against The Wall" The cover of the album is the first image you see on the video

  • Think it's a great cover.

  • @rpmhart No, this was released in 1971. Frampton toured with Bowie in the late '80s. Not that that matters, as he didn't even play on this. It was Dave "Cyrano" Langston, who seems to have come out of obscurity to record this album and then gone right back in. Gain, in this context, refers to the input stage of a guitar amp, which when turned up overdrives the next stage and produces distortion. Loadman842 would like Townsend to sound more like a 14 year old boy trying to sound like Townsend.

  • @tubemejlh It's TEN

  • @tubemejlh I believe you are incorrect. I had both of the N.Y. music books (the white one and the black one.) True, Neil does not always sing exactly as the lyrics are written, still, I believe it is 'ten'. Ah well, it was 1968.

  • @ylwf It was in 1981 at Madison Square Garden... The Who played something like 11 sold out nights! Pete was in bad shape. It's a shame, he was doing some real heavy drinking... probably lucky to be alive. Certainly took Moon and Entwistle. They were great musicians. I don't know how they played so good- loaded like that. Any time I ever went into a studio fucked up thinking I sounded great, I would listen to the tape later and man- it was bad! Ha! Ha! Peace man!

  • Love this song...

  • @Lewis1key Was that in Seattle back in 89? That happened there as well.

  • @jaycee314 I second that. All those opposed? Then it is carried. Next.
