How to create a basic SQL Server Reporting Services project with drill down functionality using the Report Wizard. The demonstration uses Business intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) to launch the SQL Server Reporting Services wizard and create a report through a series of simple steps. The demonstration involves 1) creating a new data source (shared in this case) 2) editing a connection string to point to link the report to a SQL database table. Then 3) the graphical query designer is used to identify the fields that are required in the report. The 4th and final step involves identifying the report type we wish to use (Tabular or Matrix), the level of grouping required, & whether subtotals and drill through is needed).
Is this the same concept with VS 2010?
Very powerful tool! Thanks!

That was excellent, I have to do this for my SQL Practical on Monday and actually went into word pad in my virtual machine ( which hosts my SQL ) and typed out step-by-step from your video. THANK YOU! Don't tell my instructor though LOL!
