Rallyfeste 2007 was held to celebrate 40 years of Rallying in NZ. Many old names from the past came out to play, including Rod Millen, Mike Marshall, Paul Adams & Reg Cook. Millen brought his 4WD Mazda RX7 to NZ from it's home in California for the event.
The event comprised of 4 tarmac stages in the morning and 4 gravel in the afternoon. Former NZ champ Neil Allport was in charge of a rare Group B Ford RS200 for the day.

  • is the first car a rx7??

  • The first car is a Ford RS200. Built during the Group B days of World Rallying to compete against the Audi Quattro, Peugeot 205 and Lancia Delta Group B cars. These cars were banned after 1986 as they were seen as just too powerful plus there had been a couple of high profile deaths using these cars. The Millen RX7 4WD shown here was built in California in the early 80's to compete against the John Buffum Audi Quattro in the US champs but never was homolagated as a Group B car.
