Lippold shows an early prototype of the Haken Continuum fingerboard in this vid.

In this segment, part 2, Lippold Haken demonstrates his Platypus DSP music synthesizer which was a precursor to the Symbolic Sounds Kyma. (www.SymbolicSounds.com) Lippold also shows an early prototype of the Haken Continuum fingerboard (www.HakenAudio.com).

Digital Music Engineer Dr. Lippold Haken demonstrates his Platypus music engineering system, tells how to get a free copy of his advanced LIME music editor, and shows the CDC Cyber-emulating Zephyr computers which he designed and built to run the PLATO systems at the heart of NovaNET. Host: Sherwin Gooch
Director: G. David Frye
Engineer: Chris Stroberger

More recently, Lippold has dedicated himself to the development and acceptance of a new continuously-variable musical instrument interface called the "Continuum Fingerboard". With the Haken Continuum the performer can, among other things, play all the notes which lie "between the keys." (http://www.HakenAudio.com/Continuum)

This episode was taped on location at the offices of Cablevision of Urbana-Champaign on the evening of December 29, 1991. I extend my humble thanks to all involved.

Now it can be told: A very special thanks to the University of Illinois for "loaning" us the can of "Freeze-It" we incessantly sprayed on an op-amp in the board's video signal-path to prevent it from continuing to overheat during the taping of this episode.

Go Illineks!
