You're in for an avalanche of Mario Kart Wii videos today. Think you can keep up?
Right after the Clarinet Cup for Saturday ended, the Danswich Cup for Sunday begins. Sort of. Last Sunday, all of Nintendo Wi-Fi was down, including the official site. Must've been some pretty major maintenance. So it was postponed to today to come directly after the Clarinet Cup. And since Lord Danswich was hosting both of them in celebration of his newly-declared Danswich Day in his village, we have the same competitors as in Saturday's Clarinet Cup.
Race #1
N64 Mario Raceway
I didn't do too bad over here, though my position swung back and forth like crazy, and it looks like the pendulum went towards the good side when the race ended. Try as I might, I couldn't catch up to Santa Claus in this race. He's fast. Of course, he does fly around the world in one night dropping gifts for billions of people, which would make him a very experienced speed demon. Or speed saint, I guess.
Race #2
Dry Dry Ruins
We're back in Dry Dry Ruins, where Mario rescued Mamar in Paper Mario. The beating I got in the previous set of races is back here, so much so that I had a 10th place finish instead of 5th. All sorts of weird things happen to me, and my slow reaction times causes me to experience Murphy's Law on a daily basis. A new way of messing up I haven't done before: I collided with someone Mega Mushroomed but staying still.

Heh, I get by just fine on the Wii Wheel. I think it was only the first hour when I wasn't sure how to control it, but I think I have it perfectly under control now.
The Wii Wheel is certainly not for turning straight lines, but for turning a precise angle, I don't think it can be beat.
Then again, your play style seems to be much different than mine.

yes, i used the wii wheel for the first few weeks i had the game. once i tried the gamecube, i never touched that accursed wii wheel again. i have so much more control with the CG controller. and well i mostly use bikes, and doing wheelies with the wheel is just horrible.

Have you tried the Wii Wheel? You have 180 degrees of movement, and on a wider arc, than the 90 degrees of movement on the Gamecube controller.

the turning is far more precise with the gamecube. whatre u smoking?

i use the wii wheel and manual but ur right, some things are awkward like holding an item behind ur back

The Flame Runner and the Mach Bike were designed with manual drifting in mind, and with the Gamecube controller. Me, I use the Wii Wheel, whose turning style is entirely different (and far more precise), so Automatic will suffice.

i race on bikes like the flame runner and mach bike so it's easier for me to dodge with manual

Manual is better for Time Trials, but these are regular races where there are items flying around everywhere. Automatic drifting allows me to dodge them better.

you're good but u could be better if u use manual, not a criticism, just a suggestion
